Sandra has over 30 years of experience in environmental and natural resource management. She is the Port of Seattle’s Senior Director of Environment, Sustainability and Engineering and a member of the Port Executive Team. She leads seaport and airport comprehensive environmental programs as well as engineering design and construction management used to build and maintain critical regional port infrastructure. Prior to this position, she represented the Port as the Director of Maritime Environment and Sustainability leading award-winning programs in climate action, habitat restoration, and stormwater management.
Before joining the Port she served as Assistant Director for King County Wastewater Treatment Division supporting operations, policy, strategic business planning, and capital delivery. Sandra also has extensive experience leading programs in watershed protection and restoration, salmon recovery, flood protection, and stormwater management where she was instrumental in establishing regional funding sources and governance structures as well as compliance programs. In all her roles, Sandra supports high-performing teams, and integrated planning and is dedicated to continuous improvement. Sandra has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Forest Biology and a Masters of Marine Affairs.
