City leaders packed the room to learn was about clean manufacturing and production at the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Conference. CSI led a panel discussion with Scott Simmons, Spokane's Public Works Director, and Miles Thomas, Kennewick's Economic Development Manager. The rich Q&A segment probed how diverse towns and cities in the room could get started in clean manufacturing.

Changing behavior, from households to municipal decision makers, to improve the success and effectiveness of organics recycling programs.

Business and logistics of renewable natural gas from anaerobic digestion facilities
State and local policies that facilitate organics diversion and market development

CSI partners are generating excitement ... and news. West Plains PDA landed a story in the Spokane Journal of Business around its idea to creating an Innovation Park, focused on clean manufacturing and production. And another CSI-related project, the City of John Day's Rural Economic Diversification Summit was featured in the Grant County paper Blue Mountain Eagle.
