Our Mission

Our mission is to catalyze state-of-the-art integrated infrastructure that helps communities of every kind thrive economically, socially, and environmentally.

The Center for Sustainable Infrastructure (CSI) is a Pacific Northwest-based non-profit dedicated to building a thriving, sustainable future of broadly shared prosperity in communities all across our region through sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Why Infrastructure?

Quality infrastructure matters to every community, in every part of the Pacific Northwest. Community infrastructure is the lifeblood of our local economies and shapes much of our daily lives – providing us with clean water and air, effective transportation and communication, heat and power for home, work and industry, and more.

We spend billions of dollars every year to operate, maintain, rebuild and expand these essential systems - it's time we ensure these investment decisions work better for all communities.

In 2021, the Japan Machinery Federation (JMF) interviewed CSI Executive Director Rhys Roth about a Clean Materials strategy for the Pacific Northwest.

JMF is an umbrella organization for all machinery related industry associations in Japan of which there are almost 50, as well as large individual companies such as Toshiba, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi.

The article was published in Japanese to JMF member companies and can be read in English via Washington CORE, a US-based affiliated organization.
